Lend Lease engaged Sky5 for a Major Roof Safety upgrade in 2014. Due to the scale of the requirements and number of roofs and volume of materials the project was split into 3 phases, to be scheduled over 2 years, with completion due mid 2016.

Challenges
Site Safety controls as Principal Contractor undertaking High Risk construction activity.
Our work teams had to scale up and down in size frequently.
Designing access to Cooling Towers was required as nothing existed to date.
Rigorous Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) reporting requirements.
Independent Quality Assurance processes needed to be developed and documented.
Significant amount of time and resources working near or on fall edges installing guardrail.
Liaison with over 15 Retail tenancies was required for crane and materials movements.
Solutions
Our Solutions involved its own unique extranet portal to engage stakeholders with real-time updates inline with requirements of AS 4801 Accreditation in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Daily news feed ensured Stakeholders up to date with progress.
Extranet portal facilitated all site record keeping and documentation in a simple to use format that notified all parties of progress.
Anchor capping system – first of its kind within the Australian Fall Prevention industry.
Unique methods of using temporary 2 – person rated lifelines was used, attached to permanent anchoring systems that were later capped to ensure that the risk of an unauthorised users was removed.
Sayfa Systems (manufacturer) conducted a detailed Quality Assurance program with 100% compliance.
